Christmas.
Almost all of my Christmas shopping is done. It has been a really fun Christmas season this year. Noah is getting a stack of books, a new Mr. Potato Head, Crocodile Dentist, new clothes, a puzzle, a ukelele and a collection of new musical instruments. Andy is getting a new finger puppet theater and puppets, a stack of books, a new sweater, a veterinary set, and 2 cooking sets. I was proud of myself because with the exception of one of Noah's Eric Carle books none of the other toys use batteries. Whenever a toy has batteries we are so bad about remembering to change them. Plus, toys without batteries need more imagination to use! This year we bought more toys than usual for the kids. Usually we only get them 3 presents but this year we got a bit more. I hope that they appreciate them. The last thing I want to produce are greedy little children. I am not going to worry about it too much.
The kickoff to our 10th anniversary year!
I am so excited because Scott and I are planning a 10th anniversary year kickoff by taking a trip to Paris and Rome. We will leave January 5th and will return January 16th. We will fly into Paris, stay for 5 nights and then fly to Rome and stay another 5 nights, then fly home. We will miss the kids, but it will be awesome to be able to spend so much time together. Top things I want to do are to ice skate on the Eiffel Tower, go up the Eiffel Tower at night, eat in fun French and Italian restaurants, get a delicious coffee drink every day, go to the Musee d'Orsay, and see the coliseum and lots of other Rome sites that I haven't even researched yet. We may take some day train trips out of both cities. We've really wanted to get to Mt. Saint Michel cathedral and Chartres cathedral as well as Pompeii. We will be staying at La Petit Chatelet in Paris and The Daphne Inn in Rome. It will be the first time I have ever been to Rome and I am really looking forward to the entire trip.
Adorable children.
The other day Noah was feeling the prickly Christmas tree and accidentally pulled it over on himself. It was hilarious because he was so confused. Andrew freaked out because he thought that the tree had attacked Noah and was going to get him too.
I have an artist in residence. Yes, his name is Poopcasso. You may have seen his work. It's the work that stinks. This is not a joke.
A Jolly Haiku.
